Conspiracy theorists who believe that Princess Diana was assassinated cite a number of possible motives for the conspirators.

They believe that Diana may have been contemplating marriage to Dodi Fayed, and even conversion to Islam. Hardcore royalists, they claim, would have considered it inappropriate that Muslims should be so closely connected to the blood of the British royal family, and may have been concerned that a Muslim Diana might have persuaded her sons to convert too.

Some conspiracy theorists believe that Diana's campaign against land mines is what lay behind her assassination. They say that, because Diana wielded such influence over the general public, she may well have been able to win enough support for a land mines ban that it would actually come into effect. They claim that the arms manufacturers who profited from the status quo would have wanted her out of the way so their business could continue unimpeded.

We seem to have a need for conspiracy theories don't we? I suppose it is a lot more interesting than just accepting that Diana was killed in a road accident. If this had been you or me killed in this tunnel then it would probably have merited a small entry in the Paris Daily News, but that's all. The public interest is because of who was killed. This will drag on for years with various theories being proposed. It all makes money for the media. We probably already know the real truth but the conspiracy theories are much more engaging and it makes great books and TV.

She was more popular than she had ever been. She was about to marry Dodi, and in the process, become one of the wealthiest and most powerful women in the world. All that money can buy a whole lot of power. So she just happens to die at that particular time in a car accident? Yeah right. The monarchy knew if she married Dodi she would have a lot more influence over the country, and the monarchy, after all, her son would be king someday. They weren't about to let that happen. Her death was too convienient for too many people. I don't think we will ever know the full truth, but I think it's totally obvious she was assassinated. And I think several parties were involved. Unfortunately, they will more than likely never see justice. If her sons really wanted to honor their mother, instead of that stupid concert they thru in her honor, they would force the truth out. I'm sorry to see that they are turning out as bad as the rest of the monarchy is.

She was more popular than she'd ever been. She was about to come into a whole lot of money and power, the same if not more than the monarchy, thru her marriage to Dodi. Due to that, she would have had a whole lot of influence over the monarchy, and over the country, maybe even the world. So she just happens to die in a car crash, right before her "big announcement" to the press on that Monday? Yeah right. The royal family wasn't about to let her gain any more control over them, especially her sons, than she already had. Several parties were involved in her assassination. If her sons truly wanted to honor her, instead of that ridiculous concert they threw, they should have forced the truth to come out. They're turning out to be just as horrible as the rest of the monarchy. The theory that she died in a legit car crash is just as believable as it is that Lee Harvey Oswald offend JFK all by himself. Great Britain and France are just as full of it as the US is, and we all know this.
