Who Was In The Goon Show?

There were principally three main characters on the Goon Show. The first was Spike Milligan whose main characters included Eccles, Minnie Bannister and Count Jim Moriarty. He too did small part of Throat, Little Jim, Spriggs, Yakamoto, Cor Blimey, Thingz, Hugh Jampton and Fu Manchu.

The second was Harry Secombe who played the character of Neddie Seagoon and other small roles of Uncle Oscar, Unteroffizier Krupp, Private Bogg, Nugent Dirt, Izzy and Welshmen.

The third principal character was Peter Sellers's who generally did Major Bloodnok, Hercules Grytpype-Thynne, Bluebottle and Henry Crun. Incidentally he also played the maximum number of other minor character such as Cynthia, Mate, Babu Banerjee, Gladys, Churchill etc.

One of the other cast regulars was Michael Bentine. Other cast members included announcers Andrew Timothy with Wallace Greenslade and Ray Ellington one of the musicians who provided the music.
