Where Was Dean Martin Brought Up?

Christened Dino Paul Crocetti by his working class Italian Parents, Dean Martin started on his journey through life from Steubinville, Ohio, USA. He was from the Pittsburgh Tri-State area. It is sometimes assumed that he was brought up in the good old South. The southern drawl in his voice comes from the Italian he spoke at home till about five years of age, nothing else.

His life was pretty hard and till about class ten he decided that he 'didn't need no education'. He did what most drop outs then did, the odd job here and there. Filling up gas, a common labourer at a steel plant and the more romantic card shark, were just some of things he tried out. He even did a Mohammed Ali and took up a carrier in boxing. He suffered a bit more in the form of a broken nose, a split lip and a bruised body before it seems fate finally decided to grant him his fifteen minutes of fame.
