I have a tree frog myself and they normally live for 3 to 5 weeks. The best way to keep it alive, is to let it have some freedom. Let it go in your grass. But have someone watch it. After five or so minutes, carefully bring it to its tank or cage. The cage should be big since the tree frog needs ALOT of room to hop around. Also in your cage you should have 2 small bowls. One for cooling down in and the other for drinking. Tree toads generally eat a variety of insects. You will be surprised to know that tree topes living in the wild also eat fish. A tree frogs diet is a little different and more varied then that of a frog that lives on land or in the swamp. They eat gut-loaded crickets, their own miniature tadpoles, guppies, spiders and worms. Tree frogs are a member of the Bufonidae family which comprises of 300 odd different species. Frogs, toads and tree toads are all members of the same family. Even though they are called tree frogs, you should not mistake their diet to be greens, fruits or vegetables. Tree frogs do not eat any kind of leaves either.
