What Foods Can I Take On A Picnic For Someone Who Is Coeliac?

Answer Question

Coeliac disease is a gluten intolerance. Gluten is found in a lot of premade foods and sauces as well as in the obvious breads, pastas etc.

Picnics don't have to be just about sandwiches!! Although if you are coeliac you don't have to exclude them either! There are plenty of non-gluten bread alternatives which are widely available in supermarkets. However, I can't say that they are particularly great!

You could try buying some gluten free pasta and making a pasta salad to eat cold in tubs. A nice fresh sauce like pesto would be lovely.

Get hold of some gluten free crackers and you can eat them with  a selection of cheeses (buy a pack of minis) or pate.

Why not try some charcuterie meats. You can buy some lovely pre-packaged ones or get them from a local deli counter. Serve with some olives for that extra touch of class!

You can also cook some chicken wings or legs and serve them cold with some salad.
