I'm Dutch Citizen. Will My Child Get British Passport If I Just Go To UK And Give Birth?

I am Dutch by birth but brought up in Pakistan since I was child. Now I'm married in Pakistan to a Pakistani citizen studying in UK. He is on student visa there. 1.If I move to UK with him, Is there any way for him to get British Citizenship through my Dutch nationality without my working in Uk? While he has a good job there at the moment. 2. If I just go UK to give birth, will my child get British passport straight away along with Dutch passport or at least British Passport only? Thanks

    Hi,

The answer to your question is No.

If a child was born before 1983 in the U.K, he was automatically given British Nationality.

Anyone born after this date can get automatic British Nationality only if
his/her parent is a British citizen or settled in the UK permanently at the time of the birth.

You can transfer your Dutch Nationality to British Nationality provided that you have lived in the U.K for a certain number of years.
