    My Dog Has Anal Gland Cancer, How Will I Know That His Last Days Are Here? He's Happy And In No Pain At The Moment

    I have looked up and am not able to find the answer ,what do i need to look out for during the final days of my dogs life(he has anal gland cancer)he is in no pain at the moment and although he is 16yrs old(human years) he acts liie a puppy.I wish to know what to expect when his time to go to doggy heaven comes,what are the sypmtoms.Obviously if he is in pain I will let him go to doggy heaven. Thankyou

    I think he will tell you in his own way when he is ready to go. It may be that he refuses food, he may go quiet and depressed, or stop doing things that he used to like..
    I feel really sad for you, but he is now very old and I am sure he has had a good life with you.
    We have a saying about letting pets go: Better a week too soon than a day too late. I hope this helps.
