Marie Louis Elisabeth Vigee-Leburn was called the most technically sound portraitist in her era in France. She was born on 16th of April in the year of 1755 in Paris. Her father was a pastel portraitist of that time and he was also her first teacher of painting. The famous painter of France Joseph Vernet also advised her in aspect of painting. Elisabeth Vigee-Leburn was called to Versailles to paint the portrait of Marie-Antoinette. Later she painted the Marie's portrait at least twenty five more times.
