    Marie Louis Elisabeth Vigee-Leburn was called the most technically sound portraitist in her era in France. She was born on 16th of April in the year of 1755 in Paris. Her father was a pastel portraitist of that time and he was also her first teacher of painting. The famous painter of France Joseph Vernet also advised her in aspect of painting. Elisabeth Vigee-Leburn was called to Versailles to paint the portrait of Marie-Antoinette. Later she painted the Marie's portrait at least twenty five more times. When the French revolution was broken out Marie Elisabeth left her native land as well as France and voyaged to abroad.

    In the time of living abroad Marie Elisabeth painted such famous portrait those had become historical in aspect of painting itself. The portrait of Lord Byron, who was a famous English poet and Germaine de Stael were the two masterpieces among all. Later she came back in Paris and introduced herself as a leading worker of her society. The paintings of Marie Elisabeth were outstanding for their freshness, sensivity as well as their charm. She was died on 30th of March in the year of 1842 in Paris. She had been accepted as the technically fluent portraitist during end 1700s to mid 1800s.
