How Do You Say Rosie In Polish?

Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

Probably the nearest Polish equivalent is Roza or Rosa. These names do mean "rose" (you can find the same names in German) though of course Rosie is also a pet name or nickname, so Rosa wouldn't be the exact equivalent. Actually I think Rosa is a Latin word (meaning, guess what, Rose) and can be a Spanish name too, so not specifically Polish.

I know there are other Polish names based on or derived from "Rosa" but they are hard to find. I did once know a Polish-born girl who I think was called Rozalia or Rozaria, but I couldn't guarantee the spelling after so long! Rosalia is also a Latin name, I think.

There is a website listing Polish girls' names>/a> which may be able to give you some more help.
