Toads usually eat insects, bugs, grubs, worms, slugs and many other such invertebrates. When toads or frogs are young, they are called tadpoles. Tadpoles will eat plants. If you have a toad as a pet, and it has been domesticated, it will however, eat fruits and vegetables. One should train pet toads or frogs to hang out in the garden and eat insects and bugs, like they are made to do because they can play their role in pest control. Toads are actually no different then frogs. Frogs are referred to as toads sometimes as they the members of the Bufonidae family which consists of more then 300 species and they or more or less look alike.
