What Is/Would Be Most Frightening To You About The Prospect Of Being Homeless?

Answer Question

It's not that frightening as I have been homeless... The hard part is finding shelter, a place to bathe, and adequate clothing so that you can get a decent job and start over.

The cruelty of other people would scare me and the loneliness

There are so many things that would be frightening to me at the prospect of being homeless, the list is endless.  But the other night when I got a horrible migraine, I had to lie in the quietness of my cool bedroom in the dark with a cool cloth on my head for several hours.  For some reason while I was lying there, I thought to myself how horrible it would be for some homeless person to get a migraine.  What would they do?  They would not have the comforts of home, no meds to take, no cool cloth to put on their head...they would be grateful just to lie on the pavement without worrying that someone may come by and kill them or beat them up or rape them...we take so much for granted sometimes...I feel blessed just to have a roof over my head, food and clothing and a job.

The realization that your world was about to be switched off and that you're forced to adapt to a completely unknown and unwanted new lifestyle in a big hurry would be most distressing. The sudden loss of the familiar and comfortable--family and friends you spent a lifetime cultivating; the urgent need to face a totally unpredictable, maybe even hostile, world alone: That sense of helplessness must be so overpowering that one may not want to go on...

But then, if the cause is justified, one will find the strength and courage to face it. And thrive despite all adversity.

Yeah this is a good point with hope and perseverances in the face of adversity brings you out a stronger person but at the same time the feelings you would probably get what did I do to make this happen, how do I continue to feel good about myself these are the things that we need a shoulder for to listen and knowing that really you have no control-thats gods job he is the one who knows all and will provide you what you need when you need it just ask.

In this world that is getting worse we need strength and hope to get us through every trial and test.

The most frightening thing would be that it would never end. Once Homeless defines your life style you would never be able to work and get back to even a somewhat normal life again. I know it can be done (from others and also Ryanna's answer), but that would be my worry.
