Different elements will, of course, have different properties. Some of the properties that you might want to make a note of would include the symbol of that element (such as 'C' for Carbon); the element's atomic number (in the case of carbon, it would be 6); the atomic weight (which in this instance would be 12.0107 (8) g r ); group number (again, in the case of carbon, it would be 14); the period number (which would be 2 here) and the block (this would be the p-block for carbon)
Some general trends that you can make a note of when referring to the periodic table would include when you move from left to right, you will find that atomic radius decreases; the element's ionization energy will increase; and the electro negativity also increases. When you move from top to bottom on the other hand you will notice that atomic radius increases; the element's ionization energy decreases; and finally the electro negativity decreases.
