How Do You Plant Yellow Corn?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

To plant yellow corn, you need to choose a site which receives full sunlight and has soil which has a pH of between 6.0 and 6.8. Yellow corn needs soil which is rich, retains moisture and is well-draining. The corn plants can either be bought at any of the local nursery or planted at least a week after the last frost season, when the temperature is in the range of between 55 degrees Fahrenheit and 65 degrees Fahrenheit.

The seeds must been sown between one and one-and-a-half inches deep and spaced between four and six inches apart. The plants must be thinned to approximately a foot apart when they are between three and four inches tall. The plants should get approximately an inch of water per week at least. The plants should be fertilised with an organic liquid fertiliser thrice and harvested when the husks are dark green in colour.
