    The Secondary Memory is a type of Computer data storage or computer memory. It is the cheapest and slowest memory and is not processed by the CPU directly as it has to be copied to the RAM or primary storage first.

    It is also non-volatile and remains functional even if the computer is turned off. The Modern Computers of today put a strong emphasis on including Secondary Memory in the computers. As data is kept for longer time on the Secondary Memory. Hard disks are also commonly found in computers. They are a Secondary storage devices that are used more than a RAM is used. So a computer can not be without a Secondary memory device in today's modern world.
