Can You Tell Me About The Earliest Nomadic People In Brazil?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Archeological evidence and findings have shown Brazil might have been home to early humans as far back as 30,000 years ago. Although not much is known about these ancient people, scholars have unearthed artifacts and cave paintings, that they all agree, date back to a minimum of 11,00 years. By the time of the European arrival, the indigeneous population was relatively small, despite the fact that archeological records indicate that earlier there had been some densely populated settlements in some areas. These populations are believed to have been decimated owing to the influx of new and deadly viruses to which they had no immunity, like smallpox and other European diseases, prior to extensive European exploration. The survivors of this indeginious population are classified into two major groups, a partially sedentary population speaking the Tupian language, and nomadic populations. According to rough estimates, there were at least a million indigenous people scattered throughout the territory.
