Bad breath is the common name for the medical condition, halitosis. Bad breath or halitosis may be caused by an assortment of reasons including not brushing the teeth properly and certain medical conditions.
One of the important factors that cause bad breath is the food of a person. Such items as onions, garlic, orange juice, soda and cheese cause bad breath. Another important factor that causes bad breath is poor oral hygiene. Teeth need to be carefully brushed and flossed to keep bad breath away. Bad breath or halitosis may also be the result of smoking and the use of tobacco in any other form. Dry mouth resulting from stress or due to some medication will also cause bad breath.
A number of medical problems including periodontal disease can cause bad breath. Uncontrolled diabetes is another cause of bad breath. Other medical conditions including sinus or other bacterial infection, and kidney or liver complaints are also seen to be causing bad breath.
For getting rid of bad breath one need to find what is causing it and take immediate and effective remedial measures.

Make sure you not only brush your teeth thoroughly- but clean you tongue, inside your cheeks, gums and the roof of your mouth, as the majority of bad breath germs dwell there. Also avoid mouth wash with alcohol, the alcohol dries out the mouth and bacteria love a dry mouth. Keep hydrated. I like Orbit gum too.
