    The book titled Rage was another book by the prolific South African writer Wilbur Smith. It picks of the end of Power and Sword another book in the series of books about the Courtney family. Rage has at its background the beginning of Apartheid and the resentment being felt against it among mainstream and militant black African populations.

    Though the book is set in the period after Second World War it was written much recently in 1987. Both half brothers and sons of Centaine de Thiry finding each other on the same side of the political divide and are caught up in an attempt to destroy the government in which the wife of Shasa Courtney is being used as a willing instrument. At the end of the novel there is evidence of rage that is building in the suppressed black population of South Africa.
