Can Anyone Please Tell Me Into How Many Types Fertilizers Can Be Divided?

Answer Question

Microorganisms present in the soil decompose the dead organic matter. The mineral ions set free are added to the soil thus enriching it. In man's agriculture ecosystems organic matters with minerals are removed by frequent crops grown year after year. The chemicals are essential for healthy plant growth and high yield of crops. Therefore, farmers add fertilizers to the soil to maintain fertility of the soil. These fertilizers may be organic, inorganic or both in nature.

There are two types of fertilizers; the organic fertilizers and inorganic fertilizers. The decaying animals refuse to excreta along with the rotten leaves, fruits and vegetables form very useful humus. This humus when added to the soil can increase its fertility i.e. it enriches the soil in organic matters and minerals. The humus not only makes the soil fertile but it also prevents the washing away of the top fertile soil by rains. It also reduces the danger of destroying crumb structure of crumb soil.

The usual three elements added to the soil in the inorganic form are nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium, since these are the ones, which are mostly depleted by the growing crops continuously. Nitrogen is usually added to soil in the form of ammonium nitrogen or ammonium sulphate.
