Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Mount Snowdon is at a height of 1,085 m (that is, 3,560 ft) above sea level. The summit of Snowdon is known as Yr Wyddfa, which is Welsh for "the tumulus". Having the highest peak in all of Wales, Mount Snowdon was one of three mountains that were scaled as part of the challenge known as the National Three Peaks Challenge. It is located Snowdonia National Park in Gwynedd, Wales. It also has holds the distinction of being the highest British mountain found south of the Scottish Highlands.

There are different marked footpaths leading to Snowdon's summit which trail on all sides. These can be combined in numerous ways to reach the top. However, it is important to note that these routes become considerably more difficult during the winter months. There is also the Snowdon Mountain Railway, which is a rack railway running from Llanberis up to the top.
