How Big Is Verona?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

The total area of Verona is 206.63 square kilometres. Verona is the provincial capital of Veneto in Northern Italy. It is an ancient town as well as a modern city centre located in the loop of Adige River near Lake Garda. This is the reason why Verona and the nearby areas were constantly hit by floods until year 1956. After a tunnel called the Mori-Torbole tunnel was built, the floods were under control.

Verona is famous for a number of Roman Monuments like the Arena and attracts a wide variety of tourists from around Europe and USA every year. The demographics have changed drastically in the past few years and a lot of non-Italians have inhabited Verona which used to be a pre dominantly Italian city. Around 8 % of the total population now comprises of immigrants from Eastern Europe, South Asia and North Africa.
