What Should Be The Max. And Min. Sodium Daily Intake For A 83 Year Old Woman In Good Health?

I have been told to be on a low sodium diet but I don't know how to calulate the sodium as everyone needs a little sodium.

    The American association of heart has recommended 5gram of sodium in daily use. In elderly peoples, this use should less because in old age there is already sodium and fluid retention, which causes high blood presser. Usually in old age as matter of health half of the recommended sodium should be taken i.e. 2.5 gram.
