How Do Inkjet Printers Work?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Ink jet printers are one of the most common and affordable printers available today. These printers place small drops of ink onto the paper. As opposed to dot-matrix printers, ink jet is considered a type of non impact printer because the ink is transferred to the paper through nozzles directly.

There are two basic methods; one of those, ink jet printer may employee; thermal bubble and the piezoelectric.

Resistors create heat in thermal bubble, which then creates a bubble in the ink. As the bubble expands, it forces heat out of from the nozzle. The piezoelectric uses small crystals in the nozzles which vibrate under the influence of an electric current. This vibration pushes ink out and draws more ink into the cartridge.
