Does Hairspray On A Satellite Dish Help With TV Reception During A Storm?

Someone told me to spray hairspray on a satellite dish and during bad weather you wouldn't lose reception.

I wouldn't recommend it. There are chemicals in it that interfere with the reception. Take a plastic milk jug, cut it in half lengthwise and cut the top section of it off, take some duct tape and tape that to an area on the jug, and then above the reception eye of the dish.
Be sure to leave enough room for the eye to receive it's info. In the next storm you should have little trouble with the reception. Hope this helps.
