Sometimes that just happens. It could be that two recessive genes came together in your pup. It could depend on where you got your pup from. Did you get to meet or see both the sire and dam of the litter your puppy came from? If you didn't - it could be that your puppy inherited a trait from one of the parents that may have also been larger.

My mini pin is much larger than she should be...(18lbs) lol anyway her father is larger than the mother. We thought she would be around 10-12.WRONG!
