What Long Exactly Is In A Little While?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

"A little while" is similar in length to "a short time." The point of the expression is that it does not represent an exact time interval.

Usually, the time interval referred to is on a human scale, perhaps a (small) fraction of a day, or perhaps a few days. It sometimes can be referring to a time that is relative to other time intervals under consideration. "A little while" in particle physics may be a few picoseconds. "A little while" in astrophysics may be a million years.
