How Are Incense Sticks Made?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Incense sticks are broadly cored sticks and solid sticks. Cored sticks typically have a supporting core of bamboo. You also find superior quality variations of this basic form have these wonderfully fragrant sandalwood cores. For cored incense sticks, the core is then coated by a rather thick layer of incense material which eventually burns away with the core.

Solid incense sticks on the other hand have no supporting core. These are wholly fashioned from incense material. They can be fairly easily broken into different sections, allowing the user to settle on the precise amount of incense desired. This particular form is the most widely produced variety in Japan. Cored sticks are typically observed in India as well as China.

There are commonly hundreds of assorted fragrances with which various incense sticks are fashioned. Incense essentially refers to a preparation of some aromatic organic materials, which are created to discharge fragrant smoke when burned.
