Why Is Ther Oil In The Turbo?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Because there are bearings in there. Bearing need lubricating. Turbos and superchargers are either lubricated by an isolated oil supply Superchargers such as on Mustangs and Buick Rivieras have their own oil reservoir, while turbochargers and other superchargers receive oil from the engine, where it circulates over the bearings and returns to the oil pan.
