The United States Constitution gave the equal voting rights for women, which was adopted in 1920. In 1893, the first state to adopt and grant women the rights to vote was Colorado. Utah and Idaho followed suit in 1896, Washington State in the year 1910, California in 1911, Oregon, Kansas, and Arizona in 1912, Alaska and Illinois in 1913, Montana and Nevada in the year 1914, New York in 1917; Michigan, South Dakota, and Oklahoma in the year 1918.
In 1848, a Declaration of Sentiments, was signed by 68 women and 32 men, in Seneca Falls, New York, demanding for voting rights for women and other equality between men and women. In 1850, the first National Women's Rights Convention was formed which attracted more than 1000 individuals. This conservation in May 1869 went to achieve women voting rights through a Congressional amendment to the Constitution. And after a very long struggle in 1893, the first women voting rights were granted in Colorado.
