The book Golden Fox was written after the novel A Time To Die but was supposed to be set before the latter in a series of books that centre around the Courtney Family. This book has as its protagonist or in this case victim in Isabella Courtney the daughter of Shasa Courtney.

It also depicts the heroism of her brother and one of top brass in the Rhodesian Army. Shasa is the South African ambassador to the United Kingdom and is aware of various state secrets. Ramon or the Golden Fox is a KGB agent of Cuban lineage and relation of Fidel Castro who starts of a relationship with Isabella, gets her pregnant and vanishes after the baby is born along with the baby. Isabella is then blackmailed at the threat of her child's life to reveal state secrets.
