In the beginning the earth was one big mass of land called pangea (I think) and the currents in the earth and the plates of land moved and separated over the years creating different lands and seas and oceans.

Actually, you're incorrect. I'm seventeen-years-old and a biology chemist! The oceans were formed when the first of water on Earth evaporated and it rained for millions and millions of years! I've known that since I was nine.
You don't have to believe this but i think that God created created the oceans(for help try reading a bible remember it does no have to be a massive book!!!!!)
