Air hockey was made-up by Bob Lemieux, an enthusiastic ice hockey fan and engineer at Brunswick Billiards in 1972. It was an instant economic success, and by the middle-1970 there occurred substantial attention in competition play. To make sure consistent play principles of the uppermost aggressive superiority, the United States Air-Table Hockey Association (USAA) was created in 1978 by J. Phillip "Phil" Arnold, mainly as an executive authorizing body. Since its beginning, the USAA has authorized at least one national-level or World contest every year, crowning 12 dissimilar champions above 30 years.

The USAA leftovers at present the just recognized universal player association for air hockey, and has preserved a close connection with table producers and event advocates above the years. nowadays, competitive air hockey is played by a supportive group of people of serious players around the earth, with widespread player bases close to Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, New York, Maryland and Boston in the United States, Barcelona and Seville in Spain, Saint Petersburg and Moscow in Russia and the majority in the Czech Republic. From the behind 1980's, Caracas, Venezuela served as a breeding ground of action; three-time globe winner Jose Mora, and additional finalists initiated from there. By 1999 the majority of the Venezuelan action had vanished; on the other hand, re-emergence is predictable with the go back of former winner Pedro Otero from Spain.

Well before lettering anything about air hockey lets start with the handsome saying of Jesse Douty. Many people have a misconception about Air Hockey as a sport.  Air Hockey involves strategy, conditioning, stamina, practice and for tournament success, the ability to perform under pressure.  These are exactly the qualities necessary for success at most sports involving athleticism."

The history of Air hockey was started with the invention  by Bob Lemieux, who was an avid ice hockey fan and engineer at Brunswick Billiards in 1972. It gained sudden financial progress, and in the mid-1970's there arose substantial interest in tournament game. To make sure that uniform play standards of the highest competitive quality should use, the United States Air-Table Hockey Association (USAA) was formed in 1978 by J. Phillip "Phil" Arnold, largely as an official authorizing body. Since its inception, the USAA has endorsed  at least one national-level or World championship each year, crowning 12 different champions over 30 years. Still at present the USAA is the only player organization working, and has sustained a close and secure  rapport with table manufacturing company and event advertizers over the years.

Today, competitive air hockey is played by a close-knit and interdependent community of ambitious and ruthless players around the world, with widespread player bases near Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, New York, Maryland and Boston in the United States, Barcelona and Seville in Spain, Saint Petersburg and Moscow in Russia and Most in the Czech Republic. From the late 1980's, Caracas, Venezuela served as a hotbed of activity; three-time World Champion Jose Mora, and other finalists originated from there. In1990 s most of the Venezuelan activities got removed.
