Who Was Hugh Dowding?

    Hugh Dowding was a pilot of the Royal Air Force. His entire name was Hugh Caswell Tremenheere Dowding. He was the Air Chief Marshall, also known as 1st Baron Dowding. Hugh Dowding was born on the 24th of April in the year 1882. He was the commander of the RAF Fighter Command; he was in charge of this team during the Battle of Britain. He paid allegiance to United Kingdom. Hugh Dowding was in active service from the year 1913 to the year 1942.

    From the year 1915 to the year 1916 he was in charge of the 16 Squadron and from the year 1936 to the year 1940 he was in command of the RAF. Hugh Dowding also participated in both World War 1 and World War 2. He passed away on the 15th of February in the year 1970, the ashes of Hugh Dowding was put to rest below memorial of Battle of Britain.
