How Do I Get The Best Out Of Someone I'm Talking To In A Call Centre On The Telephone?

If you need to talk to someone in a call centre, be as pleasant regardless of your query, remember they have quite a boring job and get pretty much the same calls all day every day, it is a very difficult job to get excited about and it is repetitive and annoying, they are not looking for a challenge, they are looking for lunch and home time and who can blame them, it's not a glamorous or even a slightly fun job to do.  It's also not particularly well paid, in fact, it's fairly terrible.

If you swear or become aggressive or rude, they will tell you that they are terminating the call and then the conversation is over, you lose and they laugh about it for the rest of the day.

Try to be chatty and pleasant, call them by their name (it freaks some of them out but they call you by your name!).
