How Big Is HDTV?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

HDTV or High Definition Television is a digital TV broadcasting structure having a considerably higher resolution than conventional formats such as PAL, NTSC etc. It is important to note that HDTV is not a type of a television set, it is simply a broadcasting system, so the question of it being big or small does not arise.

There were a few analogue HDTV formats which were telecast in the regions of Europe and Japan. However, HDTV is generally broadcast through digital means, as digital TV or DTV broadcasting needs less bandwidth to function. The HDTV concept was originally brought to consumers in the United States of America by a set of electronics organisations known as the Digital HDTV Grand Alliance.
