The meaning of this song is that at first her history of a bad relationships left her without wanting to fall in love again. So for that reason she build walls around her so no one could go through. But then this guy who was an angel loved her so much that those walls fell AND SHE FELL IN LOVE WITH HIM. Hes the perfect man for her. Hes her angel(halo)

Everyone is wrong about this song. This song is about being really really hurt by someone and writing them off, and having them come back. "remember those walls I built" - hence the person was there before. And also "every rule I had you breakin'' is referring to her being hurt by someone, deciding that to get over them, she had to stand up for herself - and then he comes back and breaks them and she "aint never gonna shut him out". Kind of like a Big and Carrie thing. This song is perfect for Carrie to sing.

Folks, I think she's talking about her spiritual relationship with GOD.  She started her singing career as a soloist at her church choir.  For whatever reason, her rise to fame caused her to distance herself from GOD - she built walls.  She's rediscovered her spirituality and is now using her fame to do philanthropic work - "I found a way to let you in" and "It's like I've been awakened".  For example, she had food drives at her most recent concerts.  She feels GOD's halo everywhere she looks and prays the feeling won't fade away.  She's had a spiritual awakening.  Anyone else think this might be possible?

I agree with the last post in terms of being a song about God. I think can be a song sung from the perspective of Mary after being visited by the angel Gabriel. She can be thinking about Jesus "Baby I can feel your halo". Also, the rule she was "breaking" were the societal expectations for women not to bear a child out of marriage. Finally, she is declaring her love for baby Jesus by stating "she ain't never gonna shut you out". Thoughts?

This song means after all the men she has been with she finally found the love of her life she can see, feel, that this one is her angel the one god has planned for her, therefore she can let her walls down cause nothing can take this love away

Everyone is wrong. This is Pagan worship. The Halo is not a heavenly symbol, but a symbol of sun worship. Look it up. Alot of artist on her level are joining masonic cults, including JZ. Who throws up the Pyramid. He's masonic and their songs are blatant masonic sybolism.Look it up if this is too left field for you.
