Does The Shape Of An Ice Cube Effect Its Melting Rate?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Certainly, when ice melts it takes away heat energy from its surroundings thus turning back into water. Only the outer parts of the ice has any contact with the air, so larger surface area the ice has, faster the rate of melting.PS here sunlight and infra red waves are not taken into account
