1        Dear, marketing department is different than the other departments as the main objective of this department is to communicate the company to the external customers and to retain the customers and attract them by the offers. Where as the other departments are not there to promote but to serve, produce, and carrying out day to day functions, for e.g. If we take an example of any company and there are three departments, like HR, Finance, production and Marketing, then here in this example HR is working for the recruitment, selection, compensation and benefits, financial department is doing financial analysis, cost, production department is producing according to the budgets defined by the financial department, but here the question arises what is the value of product which is produced if it is not marketed well, so marketing is the department who plan the product ( because the  marketing department used to go for PEST analysis and do surveys that if this product would be launched then what would be the result), its price, distribution advertising.

In fact all other departments of the company like finance department or HR departments are responsible for managing the internal operating functions of the company while the marketing department is responsible to attract as much sales as possible. This is not the objective of any other department. Similarly main activities of this department is indoor and outdoor advertisement which is not the function of any other department.
