Joint custody basically is a court judgement where the custody of the child is granted to both parties. Often in joint physical custody which is also known as joint physical care, the accommodation and the welfare of the child is mutually shared on the basis of the guide lines set by the court.

During joint legal custody, together the mother and the father have access to make decisions about the learning, wellbeing and other important factors of the child. It is essential to know that joint legal custody and joint physical custody are two diverse aspects.
