How Many Different Animals Are There In A Box Of Animal Crackers?

There have been a total of 54 animals that have made their appearance in the box of animal crackers. However, now there are approximately eighteen different animals that could be in a box of animal crackers. There will probably always be lions and tigers, bears and elephants in most boxes. But the dog and jaguar have fallen to the hyena and gorilla. The Koala bear was added to the list of animals in 2002.

Animal crackers are also called circus crackers and came to the United States from England during the late 1800s. The Barnum Company started manufacturing the famous animal cracker in 1902 in the United States and today over 40 million boxes are sold each year.

The box of animal crackers were originally made with a string. This was not to make carrying it easier; however, it was to be able to hang the circus train box on the Christmas tree.

Today, animal crackers are still very popular with millions of kids.
