Answer Question

2 Answers - Sort by: Date | Rating

There are various factors that are responsible for the clogging of the kitchen sink and removal of them from the way can be the major factor with which you can unclog the sink.

First of all you should remove the covering that is between the pipe and the sink and then you can take a long stick and let it pass through the pipe. You will find that there are several things that are clogged into it and when the stick will press it out, all of them will be out of the pipe. You should also pass some water through it so that the muddy substances that form in the pipe are removed. When you have cleared the pipe, you can let it be as it was by putting the covering at its place.

You can also use some solution that is available in the market and it will also help you to remove the clogging.

You can unclog your kitchen sink by using a plunger. First, if you have a dishwasher you have to pull the over flow cover which should be located to the the right of the faucet. Then you put a piece of plastic over the exposed overflow and slide the cover back on. Then you hold the disposal cover down onto the sink drain with one hand and plunge the other side. This usually works when the clog is not to bad. If it doesnt clear you might have to take the pipes apart under the sink. It will usually be clogged at the T fitting just before the U-joint.
