A popular concept about Voodoo is that it works on belief. Not only the belief of the conjurer, but also the belief of the victim is necessary for voodoo to work.

That means, if you don't belief Voodoo, Voodoo doesn't work on you. It is like, if you don't believe ghosts, you don't have to be afraid to ghosts. It is not like that you fall even you don't know about gravity; but the opposite.

Voodoo is usually associated with a negative stereotype like black magic, but certain sorts of Voodoo is used for good magickal works as well.

Voodoo is an African based  religion brought to the new world by slaves. It is practiced in Haiti and to a lesser degree in Louisiana. It is somewhat based upon ancestor worship. Voodoo (vodou) literally means divine creature.
