Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

Sandalwood has been used for centuries in India to help with skin conditions, medical conditions and as a relgious incense as well as within the embalming process.
Its use in aromatherapy relates to three main conditions:
1.Urinary infections, since it has a strong antispetic action on the baldder and kidneys,
2.Bronchitis, laryngitis and other catarrhal conditions.
3.Finally and perhaps its most favoured use is as a sedative for people experiencing emotional distress or who feel very weak and fearful.  Its scent alone is very relaxing and can help people get in touch with their feelings and relax them simultaneously.  Whilst it cannot work wonders, it is said to be particularly helpful for people who have lost their self confidence.
Like all aromatherapy oils it should not be used neat on the skin and should always be diluted in an appropriate oil, to ensure it does not cause any skin irritation.
