Is Boxer Dogs Good Dogs?

Boxers are wonderful dogs. They aren't for everyone though. They are very active breed and need lots of room to run and let off energy. They are usually very good with children, but need to be socialized from a early age. I had one who was scared to death of children as a puppy, and I even took it to schools so he could be around kids, but he never got better. He loved my kids, but I could never let him around other children. I found out later that neighborhood kids were picking at him when I wasn't home. He was very protective of me and my children though. His mother loved everyone. I didn't clip my Boxer's ears. I figured I wasn't going to be showing him, so I let his ears stay natural. Its a very painful process so I chose not to cut its ears. I've had three Boxers in my lifetime and each one was a great family pet. They are prone to cancers and heart problems, so make sure your vet checks your puppy early for any heart complications.  Good luck

They are very smart and eager to please. They are very good with children and make great indoor pets as well as outdoor pets. We have owned several and they have always made great companions.
