How Do Alice's Adventures In Wonderland Begin And End?

Answer Question

In one of the most famous openings in children's fiction, Lewis Carroll's Alice falls down a rabbit hole in running after a White Rabbit. She then undergoes a series of adventures including eating food that makes her grow bigger and smaller, and meets a variety of bizarre characters such as the Mad Hatter, the Mad March Hare and the Dormouse. Finally Alice is assailed by a court of alarming characters; then, to her relief, she finds that her enemies are only a pack of playing cards and she has, in fact, been dreaming. The adventures continue in "Alice Through the Looking Glass." Here things are even more surreal. Everything is back to front, and Alice finds herself involved in a huge chess game where the pieces are life-size (and very aggressive) people. Alice is also introduced to "Jabberwocky" a poem written in a strange, barely comprehensible language. This time, Alice wakes up to find that the terrifying Red Queen from the chess game is in fact her own kitten.

This classic begins by Alice's sister reading a book to Alice. Alice then falls asleep and begins dreaming. She is then thrown into her subconscious, where she meets all kinds of fascinating characters, and has come to a few conclusions and insights about herself. The ending is when she is being chased by all the characters in her dream. She then wakes up to realize she had been dreaming.
