First and foremost, a South African traveller, or a traveller of any nationality for that matter, needs to have a valid passport while issuing England, or any other country for that matter. If he does not have a passport at all, he must get it issued from a passport office. The two major passport offices in South Africa are located in the two largest cities of the country, namely the cities of Johannesburg and Durban. Another vital document which the government of the United Kingdom has been insisting on nowadays is the documentary proof that the person is medically fit to travel and enter the United Kingdom. This is not a problem that pertains to South African nationals in particular, but the British government is severe on people from all over the world in general.

However, Asians and Africans are apparently people that have a higher risk of spreading infection, particularly in the wake of such epidemics as AIDS, SARS, yellow fever, etc. But even more crucial than the passport and the medical certificate is the valid visit visa, without which a person cannot think of even going beyond the main door of the airport, let alone through the security check. A visa permits the person to travel to any part of the world.
