What Is ADSL, SDR, UMT Mean?

    ADSL or Asymmetric Digital Subscriber line is a technique of moving data over standard phone lines. An ADSL line is faster than a regular phone connection and the wires used are made of copper lines, like the ones used for regular phone lines. A normal configuration of the ADSL allows a subscriber to download data at a speed of 1.5444 MB (Megabits) per second. It also allows the subscriber to upload data at a speed of 128 kilobits per second.

    SDR or Software Defined Radios are radios that have the ability to externally change the functionality by a technique called digital programme modification. SDRs have the ability to transmit and receive a variety in modulation responses with a common set of hardware. It also has the ability to avoid interference from additional communications channel.

    UMT stands for the University of Management and Technology. It is a university located in Lahore, Pakistan. It was established by leading professionals and educationists to improve interpersonal and organizational effectiveness. It is an independent, non-profit organization for higher learning.
