How Do You Make A Device That Shoots Marbles?

There is something that we used to make as kids that we called a "Joey Gun". It could be used to shoot marbles although you would have to be 100% sure that when using it, you aren't aiming it towards anyone or any animal.

All you need is:

- a length of 1 inch (approx.) diameter pipe.
- rubber gloves
- heavy duty tape (such as duct tape)

Then all you need to do is:

1. Cut the length of pipe to approx. 8 inches in length.
2. Cut one of the fingers off the rubber gloves.
3. Pull the finger you have cut off over one of the ends of the pipe (so it is overlapping by about half an inch).
4. Wrap tape around the pipe and the finger of the glove where the 2 meet along the length of the pipe.

Voila! There you have it, an old school "Joey Gun". All you need to do now is load a marble into the open end of the pipe, hold the pipe while pulling the marble inside the finger of the glove at the other end and let go!

How about a good old-fashioned slingshot?  You need a forked, saddle-like device which could be fashioned from a tree branch, a 1/2 to 1 inch piece of rubber stretched across the "Y", tied into a hole at the side of each "Y".  Kind of hard to explain but I'm sure you're familar with a slingshot.  Don't go killing any birds o.k.
