My Husband Has Two Jobs What Expenses Can We Deduct? Travel, Food?

Answer Question

1 Answer - Sort by: Date | Rating

First you will have to be able to itemize your deductions as if you can't your standard deduction will be greater than these expenses. If you can itemize there is a floor that must be met in order to deduct what are known as Non-reimbursable Employee expenses. These would be the travel miles between leaving the one job and going to the other job. If he has to supply his own supplies and other tools or equipment these may also be deductible as well as lodging expenses if he provides this on his own as needed. You can go to IRS.gov and pull up information of this type of deduction and the 2% floor to give you more specific information.
