A Quarter Horse is a horse breed. It is a very stocky horse, and has great cow sense. But they can also be great jumpers! They are known for their quiet temperament and sensible personality, the ultimate beginner horse. The got their name for being the fastest to run the 1/4 (quarter) mile, even faster than Thoroughbreds! They are pretty much all rounders, and have a very big and strong build. Something that really defines a Quarter Horse is their big powerful hindquarters. I think they are true beginner horses, really willing to please. ♥
