Following are some guide-lines which will help in improving the CV.
• Use bullets:
Get rid of paragraph and try to use bullets. As recruiter always scan the CV and bullets are good for capture his attention.
• List information that is relevant to the employer:
Put information in the CV which is relevant the employer. It is not necessary that the things which look good to you can be appropriate for employer as well.
• Don't use acronyms:
Don't use jargons and acronyms although they might appear notable, but the employer might not be known with these terms.
• Don't use unnecessary words:
Only list dates of relevant long courses. Use commas in place of parenthesis. Don't write comments if the space is limited. In place of 'I' and 'me' simply state the sentence.
• Highlight the abilities:
Only list those important accomplishments that are relevant to the job vacancy.
• Published material:
Only list the ISBN number of the book that is written by you.
• CV length:
It is good to fit all the information in one or two pages. Most experienced people have long list of qualification and experiences for that use extra page. Many job seekers make too long CVs with repetitive accomplishment this leaves a bad impression on the employer and he don't have time to read repetitive things. So try to shorten the CV by avoiding repetition and stick to relevant and important points.
